How to get to Flinders Island

Commercial flights to Flinders Island operate from either Launceston Airport (Tasmania) or Essendon Airport (Melbourne, Victoria).

Transfer to Essendon Airport from Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport takes 15 minutes. The flight to Flinders Island is 45 minutes.

If flying from Launceston, the Sharp Terminal is next to the main terminal so connecting is easy and the flight to Flinders Island is 35 minutes.

If you prefer more bespoke travel arrangements, to fit around your own schedule, charter flights be arranged to arrive into Killiecrankie airstrip - 10 minutes from the Palana Beach House, or into Whitemark (Flinders Island Airport). Please contact us for details. Options to depart from Melbourne Essendon, Moorabbin and Lilydale airports, Victoria’s Yarram airport or Tasmania’s Bridport airport. Charter flights from other airports in Australia can be quoted for if required. If 4 or 5 people are travelling together, a charter may be cost effective option.
